Bridging the Gap: Lyrics
TREE OF LIFETree of Life Sheet Music
It was planted by my grandpa
In his wisdom and his forethought
To provide shade and protection for our family
As he finished with his toil
He looked up at me from the soil
And I never will forget the words he said to me
If you hold on tight
To this tree of life
You will live a life of justice and integrity
If you learn to see
It will set you free
And the more you give the more you will receive
Just hold onto the tree
Etz Chayim Hi
I was on a search for knowledge
As I headed off to college
But my hopes of fame and fortune were my fantasy
I got caught up in the current
Life was passing in a hurry
And advice from long ago was just a memory
If you hold on tight
To this tree of life
You will live a life of justice and integrity
If you learn to see
It will set you free
And the more you give the more you will receive
Just hold onto the tree
Etz Chayim Hi
When the phone rang that day
There was a voice from far away
It was a wake up call from home
So I drove 500 miles
For a hug and one last smile
And I cried as he let go
If you hold on tight
To this tree of life
You will live a life of justice and integrity
If you learn to see
It will set you free
And the more you give the more you will receive
Just hold onto the tree
Etz Chayim Hi
The years flow by like water
As I look upon my daughter
I can see my grandpa’s image looking back at me
I can almost hear his laughter
Coming through from ever after
As I teach her of her family’s famous legacy
If you hold on tight
To this tree of life
You will live a life of justice and integrity
If you learn to see
It will set you free
And the more you give the more you will receive
Just hold onto the tree
Etz Chayim Hi
It’s time for you and me
To hold onto the tree
Etz Chayim Hi

BE THE CHANGE
Be The Change Sheet Music
Now there seems to be an attitude of apathy in our country
Somehow we’re waiting on the world to change
But what we fail to see is change begins with you and me
It does no good to pass the blame
Stop waiting
And start participating
Be the change you wish to see
‘Cause it’s our responsibility
To take the world from dark to light
With tikkun olam
Know the part you’re meant to play
And stop giving your power away
As long as you know wrong from right
You can move the world along
Even more than raising protest signs or changing other people’s minds
It’s in the way you live your life
Because it falls to every one of us to do our best to pass this test
To find the courage to be kind
Stop waiting
And start participating
Be the change you wish to see
‘Cause it’s our responsibility
To take the world from dark to light
With tikkun olam
Know the part you’re meant to play
And stop giving your power away
As long as you know wrong from right
You can move the world along
In every person there’s a holy spark a work of art
A piece of the Divine
It’s up to us to uncover it and let it shine
Be the change you wish to see
‘Cause it’s our responsibility
To take the world from dark to light
With tikkun olam
Know the part you’re meant to play
And stop giving your power away
As long as you know wrong from right
You can move the world along

COMING HOMEComing Home Sheet Music
I put one foot in the water
Just to test my resolution
I’m not sure I’ve got exactly what it takes
But as my body’s getting colder
My intent is growing bolder
And I push my limitations till they break
I don’t care if this ends up a big mistake
I’ll cross that bridge I will not hide
I’ll see what’s on the other side
I’ll step beyond the world I’ve come to know
I won’t let questions hold me back
My faith is more than what I lack
It’s courage over reason where I’m going
I’m headed where my spirit’s free to roam
I’m coming home
As I wade a little deeper
Fear and doubt begin to seep in
I wonder how I’ve gotten to this place
I’m about to head for shore
But something’s stirring at my core
I know the time has come for me to find my way
I know that I am different today
I’ll cross that bridge I will not hide
I’ll see what’s on the other side
I’ll step beyond the world I’ve come to know
I won’t let questions hold me back
My faith is more than what I lack
It’s courage over reason where I’m going
I’m headed where my spirit’s free to roam
I’m coming home
Now I am standing with my head above the water
Taking a breath before I slip into the sea
Saying a prayer as I prepare to cross the border
Then right before my eyes
The crimson sea divides
I’ll cross that bridge I will not hide
I’ll see what’s on the other side
I’ll step beyond the world I’ve come to know
I won’t let questions hold me back
My faith is more than what I lack
It’s courage over reason where I’m going
I’m headed where my spirit’s free to roam
I’m coming home

DEEP ENOUGHDeep Enough Sheet Music
Out of the emptiness
You offer your hand
to try to heal the ties that were severed
Too many arguments I don’t understand
Now I know
It’s time to gather stones together
We don’t have to look too far for the answers
It’s who we already are
If we dig deep enough
To where we know we’re connected
We’ll let our anger release
When we can learn to trust
That our opinion’s respected
We’ll live together in peace
L’shalem, l’shalem
Over the border lines that were drawn in the sand
We have been nurtured with hatred and with lies
Centuries of blood spilled over who owns this land
But can you see the pain in my eyes?
You don’t have to wait for the keys to the kingdom
Salvation’s already come
If we dig deep enough
To where we know we’re connected
We’ll let our anger release
When we can learn to trust
That our opinion’s respected
We’ll live together in peace
When I see my own reflection in my lover or my enemy
Only then can we exist in harmony
If we dig deep enough
To where we know we’re connected
We’ll let our anger release
When we can learn to trust
That our opinion’s respected
We’ll live together in peace
L’shalem, l’shalem

YOUR NAMEYour Name Sheet Music
If I shield my eyes then I can move toward you
Realize that I have come from you
Hear the lies and know that they’re not true
I will rise
But until the day I’m standing before you
Learn to wait is all that I can do
Recreate the life that I once knew
In my mind
The horizon line is where my eyes fall
Looking for a sign of who I am
Till the end of time I’ll learn to feed this flame
By remembering your name
The sound of evergreens falling
Shake the ground I hear your voice calling
Look around your image resounds in everything
When the rain has come the water reminds me
Be the one where heaven and earth meet
See the sun the circle is complete
Now I sing
The horizon line is where my eyes fall
Looking for a sign of who I am
Till the end of time I’ll learn to feed this flame
By remembering your name
All that I know is I’m awake
All that I have is yours to take
All that I ask for is your hand
Your hand
The horizon line is where my eyes fall
Looking for a sign of who I am
Till the end of time I’ll learn to feed this flame
By remembering your name

TOV L'HODOTTov L'Hodot Sheet Music
Alarm clock in the morning
Gets me out of bed
As I wake to face another hectic day
No time for hesitation
There’s too much work ahead
But in the midst of all the chaos and the strife
I must learn to count the blessings in my life
Tov L’hodot
I won’t take these things for granted
Tov L’hodot
Now I see the world anew
Tov L’hodot
Friends and family bring laughter to my soul
And my life would have no meaning without you
Sunset on the mountains
A simple melody
The freedom that I have to choose my way
A newfound revelation
A different way to see
Now your kindness warms me in the morning light
And I am shielded from the darkness of the night
Tov L’hodot
I won’t take these things for granted
Tov L’hodot
Now I see the world anew
Tov L’hodot
Friends and family bring laughter to my soul
And my life would have no meaning without you
The world around me opens up and lets me in
Like a mystery I finally understand
I raise up my voice and I sing out to the sky
When I realize how fortunate I am
Tov L’hodot
I won’t take these things for granted
Tov L’hodot
Now I see the world anew
Tov L’hodot
Friends and family bring laughter to my soul
And my life would have no meaning without you

HEARTS TO THE EASTHearts to the East Sheet Music
With our hearts to the East we’re returning
And we learn to find peace in the journey
‘Cause we know we’re not alone
Every step that we take brings us closer to our home
The land of our forefathers (I will be there)
Promised to all generations (We all were there)
We made a sacred covenant (I will be there)
B’chol yom sheyavo (And we all will be there)
We know HaShem will hear our prayer
A message hidden in the Western Wall (I will be there)
In a language that we don’t recall (We all were there)
Distant relatives in foreign lands (I will be there)
Searching for the touch of friendly hands (And we all will be there)
We may not look alike
But someday we’ll reunite
With our hearts to the East we’re returning
And we learn to find peace in the journey
‘Cause we know we’re not alone
Every step that we take brings us closer to our home
From Phoenix to Jerusalem we’re never far apart
Our common traditions keep us bonded at the heart
We study the Torah, we remember who we are
We’re there for each other from the start
With our hearts to the East we’re returning
And we learn to find peace in the journey
‘Cause we know we’re not alone
Every step that we take brings us closer to our home
When we’re naked of our defenses (I will be there)
Freed of footprints in the earth (We all were there)
We are left with just the other (I will be there)
Mirroring one another’s worth (And we all will be there)
We are b’tselem elohim
With our hearts to the East we’re returning
And we learn to find peace in the journey
‘Cause we know we’re not alone
Every step that we take brings us closer to our home
Every step that we take brings us closer to our home
Bring us back to you, hadesh yameinu k-kedem

THERE ARE MIRACLESThere Are Miracles Sheet Music
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is
a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." --A. Einstein
I’m feeling happy like a new sunrise
Don’t always have to know the reasons why
‘Cause it all comes down
To a question of your attitude
I read the papers just the same as you
But you don’t see the world the way I do
If you did my friend
Maybe you’d be smiling too
There are two ways to live your life
Which one are you gonna choose?
‘Cause everywhere there are miracles
If you only have the eyes to see them
Everywhere there are miracles
If you open up and start believing you’ll see the light
Can’t wait to see you it’s no big surprise
That when I hold you feels like time just flies
I should know by now
Everything is relative
No use in analyzing symphonies
That’s just like blaming love on gravity
You can learn some things
And some things you’ve just got to live
There are two ways to look at life
Show me what you’ve got to give
‘Cause everywhere there are miracles
If you only have the eyes to see them
Everywhere there are miracles
If you open up and start believing you’ll see the light
You’ll feel the energy
You’ll do what’s right
You’ll act for life
‘Cause everywhere there are miracles
If you only have the eyes to see them
Everywhere there are miracles
If you open up and start believing you’ll see the light
